The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology has proposed a plan to develop China's low-altitude air flight industry and is seeking public opinion.

The plan is for intercity commuting routes to be established between Daxing Airport and Xiongan New Area, and Beijing Capital International to Tianjin and Langfang.

The call for public opinion sets specific development goals, aiming for the number of enterprises related to the low-altitude industry to exceed 5,000 by 2027.

The proposal also outlines that Beijing will introduce more than 10 new applications focusing on emergency rescue, logistics, air shuttles, intercity commuting, and specialty cultural tourism.

Beijing has already made practical attempts in air route commuting.

The air route from Shifosi Airport in Beijing's Pinggu District to Maozhou Airport in Xiongan, Hebei Province, has been in operation for a year, completing 150 flights.

It takes more than two hours by car or high-speed train to get from Beijing to the Baiyangdian Scenic Area in Xiongan, but about half an hour by plane.

This route is likely to serve as a reference for Beijing's future low-altitude planning.

征求意见稿提出,到2027年,围绕应急救援、物流配送、空中摆渡、城际通勤、特色文旅等,新增10个以上应用场景,开通3条以上面向周边地区的低空航线,基本建成网络化的基础设施体系及低空应用生态。
