The summer beer season began with a bang in Tianjin this year. Two major events kicked off in July; the China Beer Festival 2012 and the annual Tianjin Beer Festival. The former has already taken place between 5-15 July on Kai Feng Dao commercial street, next to Xiao Bai Lou. The event was a major success and gave beer lovers a taste of what is to come. But the fun is not over yet! Between 28 July and 8 August, the city’s beverage enthusiasts can head over to the Tianjin Beer Festival in Dong Li district and join in the festivities.
Foreign beer was the order of the day for the hundreds of local and foreign visitors of the China International Beer Festival. Big brands from all around the world were poured out by the gallon. Popular brews on offer included the big names like Carlsberg, Budweiser and Corona. But by far the most in-demand tipples this year were the German classic weissbr?us Paulaner and Erdinger; as well as Belgian favourite Hoegaarden. As the intense summer heat hits Tianjin, it seems everyone’s taste buds are becoming more accustomed to the cold Bavarian brews.
The atmosphere at the 2012 China International Beer Festival was electric. Hundreds of avid beer fans flocked to the pretty shopping street to take part in the fun. Throughout the festival crowds were treated to a range of superb entertainment. Everything from comedians, magicians, cross talkers, musicians and dancers took to the stage and put on a great show. Nothing makes for a better evening out than enjoying good live entertainment whilst sipping a few frothy beverages and nibbling some delicious snacks.
If beer lovers are disappointed about this missed opportunity, fear not! The 2012 Tianjin Beer Festival is taking place right now and won’t finish until 8 August. Head over to the Dong Li Lake and refresh yourself with a few glasses of cold beers from China and elsewhere.Â
