Tianjin Wanda Tyre Group Co. Ltd. is expanding capacity to include semi-steel-reinforced ATV tires and eventually larger agricultural radials, company officials told a delegation from the China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) during a recent visit.
Tianjin Wanda expects to increase annual capacity by 4 million units by this September, according to a report published on CRIA’s website.
The investment value of the project was not divulged, but officials said the move to add radial farm tires will required more automated building machinery to reduce its exposure to high labor costs.
Tianjin Wanda reported sales of $279 million last year, 90 percent of which was derived from exports, including OE business.
