The St. Regis Tianjin is pleased to announce that Oscar Martinez has joined the hotel as its new Director of Food & Beverage. Opened since late 2011, The St. Regis Tianjin, an iconic new landmark on a rapidly evolving city skyline is fast becoming Northern China’s most prestigious gateway for business leaders, society tastemakers and discerning travelers.
“We are excited to have a St. Regis veteran join us as our head of food & beverage,” said Paul Cunningham, general manager of The St. Regis Tianjin. “Oscar has been part of the Starwood family for many years now, with extensive knowledge of The St. Regis brand. With Oscar as our Director of Food & Beverage, we are in good hands as The St. Regis Tianjin continues to offer guests to Tianjin distinctive epicurean experiences at our riverfront restaurants and bar.”
Oscar started his Starwood journey in 2005 at The St. Regis Beijing as a management trainee with the Food & Beverage department, before he got promoted through the ranks from coordinator to the Director of Food & Beverage by 2009. As a very hands-on leader, he was appointed to The St. Regis Lhasa Resort and Four Points by Sheraton Lhasa as the Complex Director of Food & Beverage and Complex Director of Operational Excellence for the first St. Regis and Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Tibet. He then joined The St. Regis Shenzhen in 2011 as a Director of Food & Beverage to assist with the opening of the hotel.
Through these roles, Oscar has demonstrated his passion and leadership by conceptualizing and designing the various dining venues within these properties to have a unique interpretation of The St. Regis brand; stewarding operations in the restaurants, bars and meeting venues; and serving in the executive committee of these properties right from their pre-opening days. Born in Mexico, Oscar enjoys football and is an avid fan of deep-sea fishing.
