Jan. 4, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Tianjin, one of four municipalities in China, sold 12,136 apartments in December, according to a China Real Estate Index System report.
The total area of apartments sold climbed 2.36% month on month in December, reaching 1.27 million square meters, and that the average price was RMB 8,099 per sq m, up 3.38% from a month earlier.
In 2009, Tianjin's apartment transactions totaled 13.22 million sq m, more than double the area of the apartments sold in 2008, and the average price of the 125,874 apartments sold was RMB 7,408 per sq m, up 7.03% year on year.Â
The city planned to sell 23.78 million sq m of residential parcels in 2009, but actually sold 21.76 million sq m, 32% more than in 2008.
Tianjin's land transactions principally occurred in April, July, August and November.
