020The St. Regis Tianjin is pleased to announce the appointment of new Director of Food & Beverage. With over twelve years of experience in the food & beverage industry, Ray will helm the food & beverage team of this hotel to elevate the dining experience for the guests, and exert leadership while planning and overseeing the operations of the hotel'€™s coveted venues and banquets.


A Malaysian native, Ray has the experience of heading the food & beverage teams of high volume hotel, restaurant and catering operations. He has managed the food & beverage teams at various renowned hotels ranging from Four Seasons, Grand Millennium and Sheraton across Malaysia and China. Ray joins us from Sanya, China, his last posting was Director of Food & Beverage of Sheraton & Four Points Shenzhou Peninsula Resort and The Dunes Golf Club, where he conducted tremendous changes to all of the F&B offerings, and made the revenue a sizable increase. Ray first came to China in January, 2014 and he is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Malay and more.


022Ray'€™s dedication to the food & beverage field is clearly seen from his vast experience. His personal strength lies in creativity and the passion to change. When he was serving the previous hotel in Sanya, Ray successfully repositioned the hotel'€™s Seafront Hot Pot restaurant to Cultural Li Minority restaurant. Leading the project along with detailed plans on the setting and marketing, the restaurant has achieved profit increasing rapidly. What'€™s more, The Li Minority restaurant has been nominated for as Concept restaurants for Starwood which only two restaurants in Asia have been selected and were sent to the Starwood headquarter in the United States. At the same time, Ray championed an effort to merge the Four Points'€™ Best Brew concept with beach soccer activity, which was selected as top three best practices for Best Brew program of Starwood from Asia Pacific.


Commenting on the new appointment, General Manager of The St. Regis Tianjin, Mr. Martin L. Leclerc said, "€œI am delighted to have Ray Sim on board. I am confident that with his expertise, he will lead the team to new heights and will indulge our guests with memorable epicurean experiences."€
