The PBP 2016 China 1200km Cycling Challenge Final will be held from October 6 to 12. The riders will depart from the Samaranch Memorial Museum of Jinghai, Tianjin, passing through Hebei province and arriving at Qingdao, Shandong province before returning to Tianjin.
It will be the longest cycling competition in 2016 in China with participants coming from around the world.
The Challenge will take two days to select more than 800 qualified riders and will officially start on October 8. The whole journey covers 1,250 kilometers which must be finished within 90 hours.
The PBP Challenge was first held in China in 2012 and has become the most influential cycling challenge in the country. Eighty-two cycling competitions have been held in more than 20 cities, with more than 24,000 kilometers' having been ridden by over 25,000 participants.
The 2016 contest is sponsored by VKU Sports, Tuanbo Haomai Sports and Culture Co, Ltd and the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports.
