Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin showcased its vision for an annual corporate fun run on 15th October 2016. Over the past two years, the hotel has always looked at ways to bring the community together with activities and events to promote 'lifestyle' in Tianjin. The hotel brought to life its vision of delighting guests each and every time with its warm and hospitable staging of this planned annual event.
The idea behind the fun run is to bring Tianjin businesses together and collectively raise money for a worthy Tianjin cause. While the event is a corporate team event, the fun run was also open to Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin's Health Club members as one of their planned activities.
A festive setting greeted the registering runners, followed by an explanation of the route, a fun group warm-up led the by hotel's Health Club team and a parade of the 'fancy dress teams' before the participants set out on the five-kilometre run around our scenic river. A refreshment pack awaited the participants at the finish line.
The first prize went to Home Credit, the first runner-up prize went to Tianjin Kerry Centre and the second runner-up prize went to Home Credit. The "best fancy dressed" award went to the team from EVL Logistics Company and the "coolest dressed" award went to Shangri La Hotel, Tianjin's food and beverage team.
The chosen beneficiary was the Cathay Future Foundation for its work with children who have cancer. As a group, we raised RMB40,000 and a representative from each company presented the cheque to Jeanne Riether from the Cathay Foundation.
