Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin will unveil its new Tianjin menu comprised by local Chef Liu Chong along with the renowned Chinese Executive Chef Olive Lai and his talented culinary brigade.
With 10 years of working experience preparing Tianjin dishes, Chef Liu has developed his own conception of traditional Tianjin cuisine.
"Tianjin's local dishes represent the feelings of the Tianjin people. They put together their favourite seafood and local ingredients, with sauces, to fry or stew - these are the favourite tastes of the Tianjin people," said Chef Liu.
Therefore, the Chinese kitchen team led by Chef Lai bustles busily from the local organic vegetable gardens to popular restaurants in Tianjin to study the "Tianjiner's taste buds" to further explore these inspirations. After almost a year of development, our menu which adheres to the principles of tradition and authenticity will finally be introduced.
Shang Palace, Shangri-La's signature Chinese restaurant and recently voted "Best Chinese Restaurant" by That's Tianjin magazine, is well renowned for its sumptuous and authentic Cantonese cuisine and local signature dishes. The interior marries traditional and contemporary furnishings. The restaurant also offers 12 private dining rooms suitable for gatherings or celebrations of between 8 and 70 people.
