Mar. 4, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Tencent Holdings, a leading provider of Internet and mobile and telecom value-added services in China, started building a data storage center in the Tianjin Binhai New Area, sources reported.
With an initial investment of RMB 600 million, the project is expected to be completed this year. The data center will be capable of providing services to 400 million end-users.
The project will provide sufficient data storage support for the North China market, said Tencent.
According to statistics, Tencent's concurrent users were close to 93 million persons by the end of last year.
Tencent realized nearly RMB 1.42 billion in net profit for the third quarter of last year, 19.1% more quarter on quarter or 92.6% more year on year, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
