Top legislator Wu Bangguo has met with visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Beijing. Both leaders vowed to forge closer ties.
Wu Bangguo says China and Afghanistan are good neighbors and have shared long traditional friendship. He says China respects Afghanistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. And China supports its efforts to promote peace and development in the country.

Wu also says China is willing to work with Afghanistan to enhance their cooperation in various fields.
Deepening ties will not only benefit both countries but also promote regional peace and stability.
Karzai echoed his view on bilateral relation. He says he hopes the two countries to strengthen political, economic, defense and educational cooperation.
