Up to 2,836 entry and exit authorities at or above the county level in China have resumed service by Thursday, accounting for 87 percent of the total 3,250 such authorities, according to the National Immigration Administration.

The NIA rolled out measures on Feb. 27 to facilitate entry and exit services to support the country's resumption of work and production amid the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Regions of low epidemic spread risks should fully resume their services for entry and exit, and medium-risk regions should gradually reopen their services according to their epidemic situation, while emergency appointment services will be available in high-risk areas to handle applications of urgent cases, according to the measures.

The entry and exit authorities had accepted 11,000 online applications of Chinese and foreign personnel by Wednesday, according to the NIA, and issued more than 5,100 prioritized entry and exit certificates to facilitate work resumption.

China also set up 62 special passes at land border ports to facilitate cross-border transportation of materials to curb the epidemic, import and export commodities, and fresh agricultural products.
