A foreigner in Beijing was pinned to the ground by security guards after allegedly attacking one of the guards who stopped him because he was not wearing a mask.
Video from outside a residential community in Beijing’s Chaoyang district on Tuesday shows three security guards holding the foreign man to the ground, one using a long pole.
"If I have the virus, you have the virus,” the foreigner says from the ground.
According to the conversations of witnesses in the video, the man was stopped from entering the residential community because he was not wearing a face mask and failed to show his health certificate.
One of the guards says that he even tried to hand the man a mask but he refused to take it.The foreigner then tried to force his way into the community, when the guard stepped in front, he allegedly attacked and threw the guard’s cell phone, resulting in the security guards teaming up to bring him down.
While her husband was pinned to the ground, the man’s Chinese wife argued with bystanders, hysterically shouting that if her husband is hurt, the guards will have to pay compensation.
In the end, the foreigner was taken away by police.
