Worker of famous mooncake maker diagnosed positive

mooncake 01A part-time worker of Maxim’s Caterers working at the Tai Po Mooncake Factory in Hong Kong was diagnosed with COVID-19. A spokesperson for the group said that the last date of work for the employee involved was last Saturday, and the relevant plant has been suspended and disinfected, and related raw materials and moon cake products have been destroyed. Employees in the factory have been placed in home quarantine for 14 days and tested for viruses.

A spokesperson for Maxim’s Group responded to the incident, confirming that a part-time employee working in the Tai Po Factory was diagnosed. The employee worked in the raw material processing area. According to the instructions, the employee measured body temperature and disinfected hands while working at the plant. Protective gear for hair, mask and gloves were worn by the employee.

The company has arranged manpower for thorough cleaning and disinfection of the work area and shared space. At the same time, it has arranged for employees in the affected area to stay home for 14 days and undergo virus testing. For safety reasons, the entire plant has been scheduled to stop production and disinfection this afternoon, and related raw materials and moon cake products have been destroyed. The spokesperson continued that the health and safety of employees and guests have always been the top priority.
