The Tianjin municipal authority has issued a breakdown of school opening schedules for the coming fall semester, which staggers the school opening peak to reduce COVID-19 control pressure on campuses.
Instead of the standard fall semester opening on Sept. 1, universities and colleges in the capital are allowed to open campuses for new student registration as early as Aug. 15, according to a notice issued by the municipal leading group office for epidemic prevention and control on Saturday.
The first grade of elementary school, the first grade of middle school, and the first grade of high school will return on September 1.
The second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades of elementary school, the second and third grades, and the second and third grades of high school will return on September 2.
Kindergartens are set to open in two phases on September 1 and September 2. In addition, extracurricular training institutions can submit applications for resuming offline classes from this weekend.
