According to the announcement by the National Immigration Administration and Macao Government Tourism Office, residents from the mainland are allowed to travel to Macao from September 23. Travelers must be able to present a certificate confirming a negative result for Covid-19 or a certificate of specimen collection for a Covid-19 nucleic acid test issued within the past 7 days. People with a history of visiting epidemic or high-risk areas within the last 14 days will not be allowed in.
The easing of travel restrictions coincides with the forthcoming traditional Mid-Autumn Festival and China’s National Day holidays. If tourists go to Macau this holiday, they will be able to see the “Macau Light Festival”, popular amongst people looking for that perfect social media photo.
