Mass vaccination for COVID-19 is being rolled out across China, including in the country's capital, Beijing.

According to notices put out by a number of neighborhoods in different districts of Beijing, residents can now register for COVID-19 vaccination voluntarily.

Since February 1, residents in Linhedongli Community, Tongzhou District, can sign up through an online platform if they want to get vaccinated. A notice said that residents between the ages of 18 to 59 could register for this round of mass vaccination. The vaccination would be a two-shot process that could begin any time between late February to April.

Several other residential neighborhoods in the districts of Haidian, Miyun and Chaoyang have put out similar notices.

Even people who have been inoculated said they would not let their guard down. They said medical staff had cautioned them after the second shot to still keep up with health precautions, including wearing masks, washing hands and keeping social distance.

Beijing is on schedule for its cover-all vaccination plan. High-risk groups including delivery service people, cold-chain workers and taxi drivers were the first batch to get vaccinated, as the campaign started at the end of 2020.
