A new locally transmitted case of COVID-19 was reported in Xiqing District, Tianjin on Tuesday, December 21.
The patient has returned from Shaoxing, a city southeast of Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. After having entered centralized quarantine, the patient tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, December 20.
Sealed area: No. 3, 4, and 5 of Dongxingli East District, Zhongbei Town, Xiqing District, and Dongxingli Vegetable Market. All personnel in the closed area must strictly implement isolation control measures and "do not leave home."
Control areas: Dongxingli West District, Dongxing Nanli, and Dongxingli East District (except Buildings 3, 4, and 5), all personnel in the control areas must strictly implement isolation control measures.
Prevention area: Zhongbei Town, Xiqing District. The personnel in the prevention zone must strictly implement the "non-essential non-leave from Tianjin". If they must leave Tianjin, they must be reviewed and approved by the city and the destination epidemic prevention and control headquarters, and provide a nucleic acid negative certificate within 48 hours to leave Tianjin.
The Chinese mainland on Tuesday reported 57 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Wednesday.
Of the new local cases, 53 were reported in Shaanxi, two in Guangdong, and one each in Tianjin and Guangxi, the commission said.
Also reported were 20 new imported cases in six provincial-level regions, according to the commission.
