An airport shuttle bus crashed into the glass facade of the T3 terminal at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport on Friday, scattering glass fragments across the scene. Airport staff confirmed the incident and are currently investigating the cause. The incident caused flights at nearby boarding gates to be delayed by about an hour.
According to online posts, the incident occurred at noon and the airport shuttle bus crashed into the glass curtain wall of the terminal, but there were no passengers on board. Airport staff arrived to deal with the situation. Another online post revealed that a flight to Xi’an, Shaanxi was waiting at a nearby boarding gate when the incident occurred.
Local media reported that no passengers were injured in the incident. Xiamen Airport immediately activated its emergency response procedures, and relevant units rushed to the scene to deal with the situation. The airport is operating normally and has not been affected. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
