China will transfer technology to build high-speed electric trains to Thailand under the condition that it does not violate the laws of China. The objective is to enable Southeast Asian countries to develop their own high-speed rail networks.
It will transfer technology, skills and knowledge in 11 areas related to high-speed rail construction to Thailand under specified conditions.
China currently has the world’s largest high-speed rail network. Built in just 15 years, the network spans more than 40,000 km (about 24,800 miles), or long enough to orbit the Earth. China’s engineering, knowledge and technology experience will be beneficial. with the need to build a similar infrastructure quickly and at relatively low cost.
