Every year, the main aim of this event is raising funds that will be given to a local charity. It is one of the biggest events in TEDA, gathering people from throughout the local foreign community, with the proceeds coming from ticket sales and donations from local companies and institutions. In the past two years CNY20,500 has been raised and given to Shine Home in Tanggu - an institution that helps families with mentally or physically disabled children.
While in the past two years the event was a Charity Ball, this year we are organizing a Garden Party. We wish to offer TEDA and Tianjin community members an opportunity to gather and make new friends, enjoy a nice buffet dinner and drinks, and good music and dancing. This will be held in the fine surroundings of the Warner Golf Outdoor Spa Venue. A lucky draw will take place during the evening, giving participants an opportunity to win prizes offered by local partners, thus making this event even more attractive.
Organization the event is done by volunteers who deal with logistics, search for sponsorship partners, and sell tickets. We estimate that more than 20 volunteers will be giving their time this year. We promote the event through TEDA and Tianjin expat online forums, as well as through advertising in locations in TEDA that provide services for foreign communities. Support through recommendation and tickets sale are also very important.
