The 109th China Export Commodities Fair (CECF) held its closing ceremony on May 5 in Guangzhou. The number of Tianjin companies exhibiting reached 298, with 730 exhibition booths. The turnover of Tianjin trade groups in the exhibition reached US$690 million, an increase of 6.2% compared with last year.
Tianjin trade groups specialize in proprietary brands, high technology products and high added-value products. Tianjin brands took a 15% share, an increase of 44%. Amongst these, the number of tools brands increased fastest, with household products also hot with a year-on-year growth of 90%.
The trade volume with European markets significantly improved, while Latin-American and Middle East markets show great interest in made-in-Tianjin products, according to the survey.
The exhibition this year favored high-tech industries and private enterprises. More newly founded enterprises received support from the fair to develop international market presence. Companies which attended the CECF for the first time accounted for 10.2% of the total.
