The 2011 Taiwan Products Exhibition in Tianjin kicked off July 7 at Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin. In order to tap the potential market of backpackers in mainland China, Hsinchu Mayor Hsu Ming-tsai appeared in person at the exhibition to welcome people to visit the Taiwan Pavilion Expo in Hsinchu while traveling in Taiwan. This is the first time Hsinchu City has participated in the Taiwan Products Exhibition in Tianjin. The Cuisine Area and Tourist Information Booth were especially designed to market Hsinchu’s spectacular scenery and unique local food. With the assistance of high technology, people in mainland China now have a chance to understand that Hsinchu is a city of “Health, Art, Humanity and Green Technology.” Hopefully the exhibition will help to create business opportunities and promote the tourism industry for Hsinchu.
