China-Russia 13 million-ton oil refining project would start construction in Tianjin in the forth quarter of this year.
Planned construction period of the project is 3 years. Tianjin's oil refining capacity will increase to 33 million tons annually from current 20 million tons after this project is put into operation.
Source from Tianjin Municipal Commission of Development and Reform disclosed that early preparation work has been completed and construction would begin immediately after examination and approval procedures.
This project is located in the Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone and covers 6 square kilometers. With a total investment of CNY 36.6 billion, it will set up 18 production units including 13 million-ton atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit, 2.7 million-ton catalyst continuous regeneration (CCR) unit and 4 million-ton residue hydrodesulphurization unit. Plus, supporting facilities such as wharf, oil storage and public works will also be built. The project will produce 10.5 million tons of refined oil every year and make CNY 62.2 billion sales revenue annually.
