From the moment they arrived at Guangzhou airport on July 31st, Real Madrid felt the intense passion of their Guangzhou fans. Hundreds of media and fans alike gathered at the airport, just to get a glimpse of the football stars.
After a night of jet-lag adjustment, Real started their training match at 5:30 at Guangzhou’s Tianhe Stadium on Aug 1st. Although the temperature reached 36 degrees, manager Jose Mourinho accompanied the whole session, running and following the players. From the training, we saw that Real’s training mainly focuses on high-intensity attacking rather than defensive work.
As representatives of the players, Iker Casillas Fernández and Sergio Ramos Garcia attended the press conference after training. Meanwhile, Florentino Pérez Rodríguez, the club president ,and Jon Collins, CEO of Centurion, jointly held a charity dinner. During the dinner, CNY225,000 was donated with the auction of three jerseys, with the highest auction price for one jersey some CNY115,000. Upon competition of the events in Guangzhou and Tianjin, the collected fund from this auction and 5RMB from each ticket will be donated to CCAF’s Dreams of Shoes fund, which will be used to purchase footwear, footballs and the other football training facilities to children in need.
Real Madrid will arrive in Tianjin for a friendly match with Tianjin TEDA to be held on Saturday Aug 6th at 5:45 at the Tianjin Olympic Centre stadium (the “Water Drop”).
