A new plant of Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. is going to be operational in Tianjin.
This Tianjin-based new plant is able to produce 300,000 vehicles annually. Meanwhile, it is going to roll off the Great Wall Hover H6 and the Voleex C50 at the end of August.
The second-phase project of this Tianjin-based plant is being constructed and covers 429,200 square meters. After being operational in the second half of 2012, this second-phase project will be able to produce 250,000 sedans and SUVs annually.
Meanwhile, the third-phase project will come under construction in 2013 and come into operation in 2015, producing Class-B sedans and high-end SUVs. Equipped with pressing, welding, painting, assembly and testing facilities, this third-phase project will produce 300,000 complete vehicles annually after being operational.
The Tianjin-based plant will be able to annually produce 800,000 vehicles, take on 40% of Great Wall’s entire production capacity and produce three models of high-end SUVs and 5 models of high-end sedans after being completed in 2015.
