Ten activities launched to celebrate National Day in Tianjin

The Tanggu district government prepared ten activities for the citizens and visitors in honor of the coming of the National Day and the mid-Autumn Festival.

On October 1, the people’s square of Tanggu district will organize a flag-raising ceremony and adulthood ceremony for those aged 18. As of then, over 5000 persons will take part in a flag-raising ceremony and 4000 students in an adulthood ceremony.

On October 3, under the theme of “Red Classic”, a grand orchestral concert will be on the stage of Tianjin Tanggu Grand Theater, where classic repertoires, including the orchestral music Ode to Red Flag, and the ballet Red Detachment of Women, will be performed by local music lovers.

“Tang Cup” Cross-Straits yacht contest, supported by State Sport General Administration Aquatic Center, Tanggu district government, Tianjin Sport Bureau and Tianjin Tourism Bureau, will be held from October 3 to October 6 at Haihe Bund Park. The participants from the colleges from Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei will compete with those from Peking University and Tsinghua.

The following activities will also be promoted. Tens of thousands of citizens will be organized to visit Binhai New Area. 2009 Tianjin Haihe Tourism festival will kick off at Haihe Bund Park. 22 groups will take part in the Red Song Singing Contest with the theme of ode to our homeland.

A series of movie expositions, calligraphy, and shooting display will be held at Tianjin Tanggu Grand Theater and Tanggu Museum.
