Northeast China has been hit by another bout of heavy snow from Sunday. In Heilongjiang Province, blizzard warnings were upgraded to the highest red alert.

Seven expresways are closed, and traffic restrictions are temporarily imposed in the provincial capital Harbin. The continued snowfall has also shut down expressways in neighboring Jilin and Liaoning Provinces.

However, air and rail transport have not been seriously affected there.

Some parts in the Northeast may see heavy snow of more than 20 millimeters in the next 24 hours. The National Meteorological Center says it will continue.
