According to a survey conducted by US – China Business Council, 84 percent of U.S. firms are expecting their China Business to report profits in 2009, and 51 percent of the respondents forecast  a year-on-year revenue increase for their Chinese operations.

The survey also showed that the leading concerns of member companies concern  business registration, Chinese economy’s impact on local operations, human resources, and overcapacity in this market, as well as market access in the services sector.

The council president, John Frisbie said “China has been a relatively bright spot for companies in the midst of the global slowdown. There is no doubt that the global economic recession has affected U.S. companies’ China sales, but the impact has been less than in other markets. ”, he also added, “U.S. companies remain optimistic about their prospects in that market once the recession has passed. Almost 90 percent of USCBC’s members indicate that China remains the top or among the top five priorities for their global investment plans. It remains a marketplace with dynamic development.”

The council founded in 1973, provides to about 220 U.S. companies operating within the United States and throughout Asia, China advocacy services, advisory and China focused information.
