A kindergarten in central China's Hubei Province on Tuesday confirmed that it fed antiviral drugs to children attending the school, local authorities said.
Â
The Xingang Kindergarten in Yiling District in Yichang City is being investigated after parents claimed their children were regularly fed drugs at the kindergarten.
Â
The parents said their children developed symptoms of stomachache, irregular heart-beat, itching, vomiting and dizziness.
Â
Many parents said their children told them that they were regularly asked to eat "white, bitter-tasting tablets."
Â
The president of the kindergarten admitted to having fed the pupils an over-the-counter anti-fever drug and vitamins to boost their immunity and improve attendance.
Â
The kindergarten has been shut down and its president and baby care doctor are under investigation.
