Preparation work is complete on European sports supplies retailer Decathlon's first store in Tianjin and it will go into trial operation soon.

Located in Teda Promenades, Tianjin, the new Decathlon store covers an area of 4,000 square meters and stocks 65 kinds of sports product, including tennis rackets, roller skates, golf equipment, sports apparel, as well as professional equestrian, and diving supplies.

According to He Ming, the manager of the Decathlon store, 80% of the products sold in the store are Decathalon own-brand product. However, to meet the various demands of customers, they will also stock products from some well-know brands — including Adidas and Nike. In addition, the store will have a skating rink and a small golf range, both of which have been set up already.

A leading sports supplies retailer in Europe, Decathlon entered the Chinese market in 1992 and now has set up 10 production plants in Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing, and Tianjin. The company currently has over 400 stores worldwide, including those in 10 major Chinese cities.
