Atlanta-based Alcan Cable on Wednesday opened an aluminum alloy cable manufacturing plant in Tianjin, China.
The plant is the first production facility wholly owned by Alcan Cable in China. It will make the Stabiloy brand of aluminum alloy building wire for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial power construction applications in the Chinese market.
Alcan Cable, a unit of Rio Tinto, makes aluminum cable, modular wiring systems, and aluminum rod and strip products. It has six manufacturing operations in North America and one in China.
