Downpours battered south China on Saturday, damaging houses, disrupting traffic and killing at least four people.
Â
In Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the rains have left at least four people dead and six missing, according to the civil affairs department of Guangxi.
Â
The department estimated that about 170,000 people in 20 counties were severely affected by the downpours and rain-triggered floods.
Â
Local governments have evacuated more than 5,700 people. The rain also toppled 155 houses, led to surging waters in 12 main rivers of Guangxi and blocked traffic in remote regions.
Â
In Guangzhou airport, the transportation hub of south China, about 170 flights were cancelled while dozens of flights were delayed.
Â
Rain is expected to continuously hit Guangxi in the following days.Â
