Tianjin's delegation returned home from Beijing after wrapping up the fourth session of the 12th National People's Congress, reported the Tianjin Daily on March 16th.
Over 200 delegates from Tianjin spoke at group discussions during the Two Sessions and made more than 450 recommendations.
At this year's sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), delegates reviewed drafts and proposals on the rule of law, the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the Belt and Road Initiative and supply side reform.
Over 140 journalists from 85 media organizations, including China Daily, Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, CCTV , Reuters and NHK attended a plenary session of the Tianjin delegation on March 8th. Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo, Vice Mayor Li Shuqi and Zong Guoying, top official of Tianjin Binhai New Area, gave interviews to the press.
Chinese lawmakers approved the country's economic and social development blueprint for the 2016-2020 period on March 16. The plan sets targeted annual growth at 6.5 percent in the next five years.
