Ascott, the world’s largest serviced residence owner and operator, recently held its version of “Amazing Race”, in the city of Tianjin, China. The participation of over 100 long-term residents and business associates started the race at 9:00am on 19th October 2014. This event is in support of the CSR campaign “Moving Feet & Touching Lives” initiated by Ascott, and in conjunction with Ascott’s 30th Anniversary.
Ascott launched a 3-month global campaign since August, inviting residents and staff to commit their time and effort to walk, jog or cycle, to contribute mileage for charity. With every stretch of mileage clocked, we take cognizance and contribute to our perennial inspiration of “Moving Feet, Touching Lives”. Setting a target of 30,000km, significance of its 30th Anniversary, Ascott matched each kilometre to S$1.00 (equivalent to CNY5.00) and donate a heartfelt appreciation to “Save the Children International”, an international organization dedicated to improve the livelihoods of children in 120 countries.
This autumn, Chinese and foreign participants are delighted to participate in the first ever, Ascott Amazing Race - Tianjin Chapter! The race explored beautiful, historical Tianjin in local style, such as visiting historical sites in public transportation, to handmake clay sculptures and dumplings, and tasting local snacks. This is the main idea of one of Ascott’s LIFE culture - Local Touch. The race saw our foreign residents receiving help from the friendly locals to find their destinations, helping to accomplish tasks!
The event has a Chinese Group winner and an International Group winner. Participants were greeted with dinner & Lucky Draw at the finishing point. A total of CNY60,000 worth of prizes were received with laughter, exhaustion and praise!
