Tianjin's gross value of production reached 370.9 billion CNY (59.9 billion USD) in the first quarter, an increase of 9.3 percent since last year.
The added value of primary industries reached 2.3 billion CNY. Secondary and tertiary industry added 180.5 billion and 188.1 billion CNY respectively, a growth of over nine percent in both categories. Added value for tertiary industries accounted for 50.7 of the municipality's GDP.
"Innovative" and "transition" remain keywords of the city's development. A total of 3,949 new small and medium technological businesses were established, for a total of 64,900. Around 108 of the newcomers were "small giants" еC small businesses with high revenue, which made the total number 3,116.
The city made efforts to implement enterprise transition. A total of 8,049 transition and upgrade projects by 6,874 businesses were completed.
Preferential policies from Tianjin government served to promote the city's industrial development. The city pioneered the implementation of an integrated registration system, further stimulating the ambition of public entrepreneurs.
The number of newly registered businesses reached 13,343, of which 12,756 were private businesses, an increase of 16.6 percent and 95.6 percent of the total.Â
