Shangri-la Hotel, Tianjin announced that a limited edition of Christmas postcards was launched in partnership with a well-known cartoonist, Ms. Ding Yichen, who created the popular cartoon character “Ding Xiaodian” during Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 25th, 2015.
A charity sale of the Christmas postcards and hotel mascot, Bear Jinjin, Shangri-la Star was held during the lighting ceremony on 25th of November, 2015. Funds raised during the sale would be donated to the charity organization, “Healing Young Hearts”, which was founded by Cathay Future in Tianjin, supported by Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin, aiming to support children who suffer from severe illness in hospital.
The character of cartoon Christmas postcard - Ding Xiaodian enjoys huge popularity among youngsters in China. Ding Xiaodian’s perseverance & optimism inspires people, especially those in difficult situations such as the children supported by “Healing Young Hearts”.
In addition to the charity selling, Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin also unveiled a series of Christmas activities. Guests were able to watch gingerbread-making at the hotel lobby and took their own photos with the hotels dedicated “Hall of Fame” backdrop on the red carpet. 3 Santa Clauses were on bicycles pedalling, with the energy created lighting up the magnificent Christmas tree.
