Hainan Airlines subsidiary Tianjin Airlines will open four international long-haul routes in June as it accelerates its international expansion pace.
In November 2015, the carrier secured approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to open a 4X-weekly Chongqing-Tianjin-Vancouver route in June.
According to the CAAC, the other three routes are: twice-weekly Tianjin-Chongqing-London; weekly Tianjin-Moscow; and weekly Chongqing-Moscow, which are also scheduled to open in early June.
The carrier plans to introduce three Airbus A330 to fly these long-haul international routes this year.
The Tianjin-based carrier operates a fleet of 86 aircraft, comprising 22 Airbus A320s, two Embraer E195s, 40 E190s and 22 E145s on more than 160 domestic and international routes.
In May 2015, Tianjin Airlines ordered a further 22 aircraft, comprising 20 E-195s and two E-190 E2s.
Tianjin Airlines has established regional operating bases in Tianjin, Xi’an, Hohhot, Urumqi, Nanning, Guiyang, Haikou, Sanya and Dalian; it transported 11.13 million passengers in 2015.
