A hotel service competition in preparation for the Davos world economic forum hosted by the Tianjin tourism bureau was held in Tianjin in April. The competition aimed to improve hotel services and the level of staff skills to display a sophisticated image of Tianjin, and to generally strengthen the quality of tourism enterprises including employee professionalism and awareness of standards.
There were three parts in the competition: reception services, Chinese food table service and western food table service. It included uniform display, operating skills and oral English. After fierce competition, 10 hotels and 29 individual competitors had made it through to the finals. The winners will receive prizes from the Tianjin tourism bureau.
About 5,000 hospitality industry staff members joined the competition. It was a good chance to learn and communicate with each other, and to improve the quality of hotel services.
