The overall plan of Tianjin's future technology city was released recently. It brings up the city's development positioning in serving as a base to relieve the capital city's burden, to launch innovative start-ups, and to develop high-end manufacturing with a complete industrial chain.
In addition, it will become a new city for high-end industries and cultural tourism. The city is expected to realize a total value of 300 billion CNY ($48.9 billion). It will contain around 700,000 permanent residents and provide 500,000 job openings.

Located in the southwestern part of Qilihai wetland in Ninghe county, Tianjin's future technology city has a total area of 144.85 square kilometers.Â
