As an important part of establishing the transportation integration of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Tianjin-Baoding Railway is expected to be completed and brought into use next year. The time for travelling between Baoding in North China's Hebei province and Tianjin will be shortened to 40 minutes.

 

According to the Sixth Engineering Bureau of the China Railway Group Tianjin Railway Construction Corporation, as the project of laying railway tracks along the main route has been launched, the construction of the Tianjin West Station project of the Tianjin-Baoding Railway has comprehensively entered the tamping stage that relies on heavy maintenance machines.

 

Tamping by heavy maintenance machines is an inevitable part of each railway construction project. Although the railway track beds and the railway tracks themselves are set into the correct positions, the beds may not be straight and flat.

 

The stone pieces under the railway track ties will cluster together through tamping, which will ensure the railway tracks are smooth and flat, ensuring the height of the tracks stays the same, and finally guarantees the stability of the operation of the whole railway.

 

According to the design plan, the Tianjin-Baoding Railway starts from Tianjin West Station and ends up at Baoding Station in Hebei province.

 

The total length of the railway reaches 157 kilometres, among which a total of seven stations have been set. With a maximum speed of 250 kilometres per hour, the time spent on travelling between Tianjin and Baoding will be shortened to 40 minutes.
