altBeijing, Tianjin and Hebei province seek to integrate cultural resources and provide more cultural activities for residents.

Chen Dong, director of Beijing Municipal Culture Bureau, said the region has similar cultural customs, which is the basis for sharing resources and creating joint cultural events.

Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei have held local opera performances together. A classic opera was performed in Beijing this May, with 11 local shows performed.

The three regions will make more effort to learn about people's needs in cultural activities and try to meet them. About 10,000 performances are planned to improve cultural life at grass-root levels.

Beijing now has over 600 artistic performance groups, performing more than 70 commercial plays or operas each day. The performances attract 11 million spectators every year with earnings of 1.5 billion CNY.

In June, the capital's local opera troupes performed in the China Pingju Opera Theater offering half-price tickets. Some traditional commercial performances also provided 30 percent discounts and got 100 CNY for each discounted ticket from the government.

Troupes from Hebei and Tianjin performing in Beijing also enjoy this preferential policy.
In addition, museums of art in Beijing are also using digital skills to organize cultural activities together with Tianjin and Hebei. The Capital Library is helping build a large community library in Hebei's Gu'an county.
