The 9th day of the 9th lunar month which falls on October 21 this year is the traditional Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. People traditionally mark it by honoring the elderly and paying their respects to them.
To mark the festival, Tianjin Eye Hospital dispatched a medical team led by the hospital director to Mount Wutai to carry out free eye testing for monks and local residents. In the meantime, the team also popularized knowledge of cataract, glaucoma, astigmatism and other related eye diseases, and registered for ill patients who will be later invited to Tianjin for free excimer laser surgeries.
Tianjin Eye Hospital is the Ministry of Health Advanced Unit. The hospital attached great importance to this event and specifically deployed more than 20 well-known experts for this Mount Wutai visit which was highly praised by locals.
