China National Aviation Fuel Group Corp. (CNAF), a state-owned air transportation logistics services provider, lately decided to create a sizable jet fuel storage and transportation base in Tianjin Municipality, north China, together with Tianjin Northern Petroleum Co., Ltd.
Through its logistics subsidiary, CNAF has entered into the investment and cooperation agreement with Tianjin Northern Petroleum and the Administrative Committee of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone.
Covering a total floor area of 300,000 square meters, the base is designed to store 685,000 cubic meters of jet fuel at most. The whole construction is divided into two phase, and total investment in the Phase I is estimated at CNY 770 million. It will mainly offer the airports in Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, Hebei, and Shandong with jet fuel in the near future.
The Tianjin-located project is scheduled to break earth and start operation in June 2010 and August 2011, respectively. By 2015, total profit and operating revenue generated from this base will separately hit CNY 200 million and CNY 60 million.
