China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co Ltd, the country's largest manufacturer of rail vehicles, announced yesterday that it has begun the construction of CSR Tianjin Industrial Park in North China's Tianjin.
The park, which is located in Beichen District and has an area of more than 1,000 Mu, will focus on industries such as rail vehicles, new-energy buses, wind power generators and key parts.
The project is expected to generate RMB 10 billion in annual sales.
The establishment of Tianjin Industrial Park is in line with CSR's plans and will promote the development of the equipment manufacturing and new energy industries in Tianjin.
The Tianjin municipal government plans to build an urban rail network of more than 1,000 kilometers in the city and will need about 600 rail vehicles for the project.
