Beijing Municipal Education Commission on Monday reported six educational institutions and one individual for conducting curriculum-based off-campus tutoring without a license, which violated government regulations.
The reported institutions include Beijing Jingyu Mingzhuo Education Consulting Co, Beijing Juneng Chuangyang Technology Co, Ltd, and Beijing Doushen Meiyu International Travel Agency Co. The individual was reported upon organizing unauthorized subject training in a cafe without the qualification to give tutoring sessions, according to the Commission's official WeChat account.
The institutions and the individual have been punished in accordance with the law and regulations.
In July, China rolled out sweeping rules to bar curriculum-based tutoring for profit to ease the burden on students and cut the financial cost of their parents. According to the regulations, training institutions and individuals shall not occupy national holidays, weekends and winter and summer vacations to organize curriculum-based tutoring courses.
