Beijing is cooperating with the railway department to integrate passengers' electronic information including nucleic acid test results, health codes and train tickets. This will help passengers to show all that information at once to pass checks of multiple certificates at railway stations.
The new mechanism is a response to the needs of passengers who travel regularly between Beijing and other cities, as Beijing tightened the access of getting into the city to prevent further COVID-19 infections.
Also, performance venues, entertainment venues, and internet service venues in the capital are required to be open to the public at a 75 percent capacity, according to the Beijing's press conference on anti-epidemic work on Wednesday afternoon.
Inbound travelers to Beijing are requested to provide a negative nucleic test certificate issued within 48 hours before checking in to hotels, said the press conference.
Beijing started "remote checking" of negative nucleic acid test results obtained within 48 hours from Wednesday. Passengers heading toward Beijing need to show both the nucleic acid test results and health codes before they get into the departure stations outside Beijing.
Those who work in Beijing but live in suburban Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei can go downtown with negative nucleic acid test results obtained within 14 days and their employment certifications from this Friday.
The railway department has stopped the ticket extension service and passengers cannot change their destinations to Beijing. For example, someone who bought a ticket to Tianjin but got off the train in Beijing would be persuaded to return if he or she didn't meet the conditions required to get into the city, said the railway department.
