The Chinese mainland on Thursday reported 80 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Friday.
Of the new local cases, 56 were reported in Inner Mongolia and 10 in Heilongjiang.
Beijing reported on Thursday evening one case with positive result of nucleic acid testing for COVID-19 who traveled from Harbin, Heilongjiang province, to the capital on Sunday.
The case staying at a residential community in Haidian district had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in Harbin on Nov 26, according to Haidian center for disease prevention and control on Thursday.
The person, who took the flight CZ6268 from Harbin to Beijing on Sunday, took the nucleic acid testing on Wednesday after receiving the phone call from health officials in Harbin.
Two locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and six imported infections were reported in the city on Thursday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Friday morning.
The two local patients are a mother and a daughter who arrived in Shanghai on a high-speed train on November 18 and stayed in a residence in Pudong New Area.
