In response to lockdowns and production issues that are plaguing manufacture and development of their products in China, Apple are looking to diversify its manufacturing to countries such as India and Vietnam.
Apple have been in talks with its manufacturing partners, directing them to up their New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, likely for products such as the recently speculated AR headsets.
Apple had previously discussed the idea of moving their production to other countries, however the strict lockdowns in shanghai that have slowed and halted manufacturing at Foxconn, Pegatron and more, have further encouraged the Cupertino based tech giant to move.
Foxconn already have facilities in India for the Indian market; however Apple are discussing the development of manufacturing hubs in the country for international export.
The change will be a slow and gradual one for Apple due to the massive amount of infrastructure needed, and China will remain as the dominant manufacturer of parts for the company, however the new manufacturing hubs will serve as places for new products to be developed.
