The annual event of “client appreciation” evening was held in Sheraton Tianjin Hotel filled with signatories representing many top corporations in Tianjin on 12 August. It was a gala evening for about 40 guests, which started at 6:30pm and it continued up to up to 9:00pm. It provided an opportunity for net-working and getting to know the high-level officials personally as well as their businesses in Tianjin. Business Tianjin got to meet several high-level officials representing corporations, such as Toyota, P&G, Siemens, Samsung, Freescale, Turck, Clariant, Loi, China Overseas Property, China Daily, Enorth.Com, and German Chamber of Commerce, among others. There was a wide spread of Hors d’oeures and snacks repressing the delicacies of Japan, Korea, India, and, of course, of China with many brands of wine and champagne, and other beverages for the pleasure of the guests.
The evening started with a formal welcome from Sunny Heng, General Manager of the Sheraton Tianjin. He said that “we are so happy to welcome you and thank you for your continued business with Sheraton. We want to share with you our innovative approach to food concept and presentation and we have assembled a cadre of the best Chefs in the world for this purpose. In fact, we had to steel one of them from India.” He said that the Sheraton Tianjin Hotel represents a cutting-edge in offering modern environmentally-friendly facilities with a fine garden, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, gym, and tennis courts.
Tony Lim, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sheraton presented awards to winners of business cards drawings, which ranged from two day complementary stay and breakfasts in Sheraton-owned properties in Tianjin, Shanghai, Malaysia, and Bali in Indonesia, India, and Thailand to brunch and dinners at the Sheraton Tianjin Hotel. Almost everyone walked away with some gifts to a pleasant surprise of the guests.
Earlier, Cherry Zhang, Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager briefed us that Sheraton Tianjin Hotel was establish 23 years ago and the Hotel has been used as a business place for meetings and lodging. There are 296 rooms, including 51 apartments and nearly 80% of the Hotel clients represent global top 500 corporations and the average occupancy rate has been around 70%. Cherry said it is “our opportunity to showcase our new food concept, upcoming events at the hotel and say thank you to our VIP guests”. Hotels like Sheraton will go a long way in attracting businesses and tourists to Tianjin and we wish them a greater success in the years to come.
